Your reels
can rest, too.

For the nights when “one more” becomes one too many. A quiet pause for Reels and Shorts when you stop interacting.

It notices inactivity. It doesn’t detect sleep.

A SMALL NIGHTTIME ROUTINE

Set it.
Then settle in.

No new feed to check. No streak to keep.
Just a gentle ending to the one you’re already watching.

Choose your quiet hours.

Set your inactivity timer and warning duration. Optional bedtime hours let you keep it to the part of the day you want.

02 /

Watch as you usually do.

On supported Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts screens, the app looks for interaction. The default timer is two minutes.

03 /

A moment to say “still here.”

After inactivity, a 20-second warning gives you a chance to continue. Otherwise, the app attempts to pause playback. Optional screen locking follows only after a confirmed pause.

BEFORE YOU SETTLE IN

A few things
to know.

Does it actually know when I’m asleep?

No. It responds to inactivity, which can happen for many reasons. It is not sleep detection, a medical feature, or a guarantee that playback will stop.

Which apps and phones does it support?

Sleep On Reels targets verified Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts screens on tested versions. It requires Android 9 or later; the Shorts visual check requires Android 11 or later. Unknown layouts are left alone rather than acted on.

Will it read my messages or record my screen?

The app uses accessibility information about screen structure and view IDs, not captions or messages. For a pending Shorts action, it may briefly capture a screen image and analyze the progress-bar area in memory. The capture is not saved or uploaded. Read the privacy draft for the full explanation.

Will it lock my phone automatically?

The default action is Pause only. Screen locking is optional, and the app first attempts and verifies a pause before locking. Compatibility and Android settings can affect whether an action succeeds.
